SYLHET: The Sylhet administration on Friday banned bathing and swimming in Piain river of Jaflong following the death of five tourists.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Shahidul Islam said that the decision has been taken to avoid further accidents.

The law enforcers, led-by Goainghat UNO and OC, are carrying out their duties on the spot from Friday morning, he added.

DC said that the local administration has already circulated the news in the area by miking.

Earlier on last two days, five Eid holiday makers have died while taking bath in the river.
