CHUADANGA: A black sheep man killed his father at Dingedah village under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday late night as the farther tried to prevent the son from gambling.

The deceased was identified as Fakir Chand, a van puller, of the village.

The killer son, Abdus Salam, went on hiding following the killing that took place at 11:30pm on the day.

Police sources said, “Salam is an identified gambler in the area; on Friday night, he tried to sell their bull after being defeated in gambling, but his elderly father prevented him, triggering an altercation between them.”

At one stage, Salam began punching and beating his father that left the old man dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the District Sadar Hospital morgue.

Sadar Thana Officer-In-Charge Musi Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
