DHAKA: Two Bangladesh workers died in an incident at a cement and concrete mixing factory in the Kingdom of Bahrain, report Bahrain-based English newspaper Daily Tribune on Thursday.
The daily did not disclose details of the deceased and whereabouts of the factory.
A Bahrain expatriate, on condition of anonymity, disclosed the identities of the deceased -- Billal Hossain, and Yunus Sikhdar, but could not tell anything about the dead workers’ village in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh embassy in Bahrain made no comment on the matter.
Daily Tribune said these two Bangladeshi were staying at the country illegally, so they had no insurance that has made the matter more complex.
DT news headlined the news ‘they died illegally’.
Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan visited the spot and asked to investigate into the incident.
The minister told the reporters that stern action would be taken against the people responsible as the factory authorities had previously been asked not to give work to any illegal migrant.
Earlier, the Kingdom’s cabinet decided to deport those who are staying there illegally, and warned the country’s factories’ authorities of not giving works to the illegal immigrant.
The factory, however, did not suffer any mentionable damage though two of its worked died of the incident, said the daily.
