DHAKA: Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain assured that the expatriates in Libya and Iraq were remained safe.
The minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after inauguration a workshop at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla in city on Sunday.
He said that some 3,500 expatriates were evacuated due to violent situation at Tripoli in Libya. But it was not possible to bring back them as the airport remained shut in Tripoli.
He also said, “We are giving importance on the security issue of them but whole situations is not under our control.”
But it’s good news that Bangladeshis are not the target in the ongoing violence there, he added.
