KUSHTIA: Two people were killed in a road accident in Ranakhoria area under Mirpur Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shefali Khatun, wife of Shahidul Islam and Kajol Sheikh, 18, son of Alam Sheikh.

Witnesses said that Daulatpur-bound a passenger bus plunged into a road side ditch around 10:30am but becoming panicked Kajal jumped off from the bus. Then, another bus ran over him, leaving him dead on the spot and injured Shefali critically.

Later, locals rushed Shefali to Kushtia General Hospital where she died under treatment.

Mirpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Jalal Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
