DHAKA: A framework agreement on ‘Decentralized Cooperation’ was signed between the Embassy of France and the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government.
The purpose of the agreement is to promote the development of exchanges between Bangladesh local governments and French local authorities.
The Economic Relations Division (ERD) issued a press release about the matter.
Michel Trinquier, Ambassador of France in Bangladesh signed on behalf of French Government while Secretary Mohammad Meioahuddin of Economic Relations Division (ERD) and Director General (Additional Secretary) Zuena Aziz of Local Government Division signed the Framework Agreement on behalf or Bangladesh.
There will be a management committee for identifying projects addressing development challenges faced at the local level in Bangladesh for which French local authorities would be able to contribute through decentralized cooperation, said the press release.
Through the agreement Bangladesh will be able to cope with the development challenges at the local level by sharing the experiences of successful projects and receiving cooperation from the French counter pans.
