RAJBARI: The ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route has been disrupted on Monday morning due to ferry shortage as six ferries went out of service for mechanical fault.

Ghat sources said that 16 ferries were running in the important river route but four utility ferries and two Ro-Ro ferries went out of service due to mechanical problem which made immense sufferings to passengers as hundreds of vehicles stuck in both sides of the river.

Besides, the water level rose in the river which made heavy waves and ferry services became slow.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Assistant Manager Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
