GOALANDA, RAJBARI:  The ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route started returning to normal after the repair of five ferries among the six which went out of service for mechanical fault on Monday.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Assistant Manager Shafiqul Islam said the ferry services resumed around 10:00 am.

Earlier, ghat sources said that 16 ferries were running in the important river route but four utility ferries and two Ro-Ro ferries went out of service due to mechanical problem which made immense sufferings to passengers as hundreds of vehicles stuck in both sides of the river.

Besides, the water level rose in the river which made heavy waves and ferry services became slow.
