BRAHMANBARIA: Two youths were killed as lightning struck them while they were playing football at Krishnanagar village under Nabinagar upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Shahabuddin Mia, 20, son of Nur Miah of Krishnanagar village and Rakib, 18, hailed from Bhayrabpur area of the upazila.
Local sources said lightning struck them while five people were playing football in the field of the area at noon, leaving them injured critically.
They were rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where on duty doctors declared Shahabuddin and Rakib dead.
