Sahara urges all to keep city clean

DHAKA: Ruling Awami League Sahara Khatun, also former home affairs minister, opined that the duty of all dwellers is to clean the city rather than only city corporations.

She also sought cooperation from the city dwellers in this regard and urged people to build ‘Sonar Bangla’ unitedly.

The AL leader was addressing a special cleaning program, organized by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) at Uttara Community Centre in city on Saturday morning.

She added:  “We can keep our surroundings clean if we show our civic sense.”

Sahara also said “We should be dutiful in throwing dirt in bins rather than outside.”

Welcoming the cleaning program, Advocate Sahara observed that this sort of program is also a part of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ of Bangabandhu.

“If we can keep our city clean, it will help the dwellers live a healthy life,” she added.

Some 300 cleaners of DNCC attended the program.
