GAIBANDHA: A housewife and his mother-in-law were electrocuted at Dakhhin Chapadaha village of Sadar upazila in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Manikjan Begum, 40, wife of Jelhaque Bepari and his mother-in-law Delbanu Bagum, 65, wife of Rabi Sheikh of the village.

UP chairman Rafiqul Islam Sarker of Kuptala Union told banglanews that Delbanu electrocuted as she came in contact with a live wire around 6:00pm.

Manikjan also electrocuted when she tried to rescue his mother-in-law.

Officer-in-Charge of Gaibadha Sadar Thana Rajiur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
