DHAKA: A Dhaka court framed charge against 13 members of banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-Al Islami (Huji), including its chief Mufti Abdul Hannan, for bomb explosion on a CPB rally at Paltan in the city.
Dhaka third additional metropolitan judge Md Imrul Kayes passed the order on Thursday noon.
Among the 13 accused, Mufti Hannan and four others are in jail but eight others remained fugitive.
On November 27, 2013, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) submitted charges sheet against 13 members of Huji, including Mufti Hannan, for bombing a CPB rally in the capital.
CPB President Manzurul Ahsan Khan filed the case with Motijheel Police Station following the attack saying a group of anti-state conspirators made the attack.
On January 20, 2001, a bomb attack on a CPB rally at Paltan killed its five activists and injured many others.
