DHAKA: Custom intelligence officials seized 24 gold bars weighing 7.3 kilograms from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Friday.

The detainee is Al-Amin, son Baset Mia, hailed from Nrayanganj. 

Customs intelligence and investigation department director general Moinul Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

After coming from Malaysia by a Bangladesh Biman fight, Al-Amin was held by law enforcers for possessing the gold bars worth about Tk 3.65-crore concealed in a school bag, said Moinul Khan.

He will be handed over to airport thana, he added.
