Youth’s body found after 18-day

GOPALGANJ: Police on Friday recovered a body of a youth after 18 days of the launch capsize in Padma River from Sugandha river in Magar area of Nalchhati upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mintu Mollah, 26, hailed from Krishnadia village of Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district.

Officer-in-charge Abul Khayer of Nalchhati Thana said on information, police recovered the floating body from the river and found a SIM card from his pocket.

Through the SIM card the law enforcers indentified him, he added.

On August 4, the launch, Pinak-6, was carrying more than 200 passengers, capsized near Mawa Ghat in Lauhajang upazila of Munshiganj district.
