DHAKA: A Dhaka court here on Sunday granted bail to Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Affairs in a case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Sources told banglanews that Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque passed the order after a bail plea hearing followed Mannan surrendered before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court
However, the court granted bail to him till October 13 on bond of Tk 50 thousand.
Earlier on Thursday, ACC has filed a case against three person including two former State Ministers and present ruling Awami League lawmaker from Cox's Bazar-4 constituency on an allegation of amassing wealth illegally and concealed wealth statement.
The accused are Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Affairs, and Talukder Mahbubur Rahman, former State Minister for Water Resources, and ruling Awami League lawmaker from Cox's Bazar-4 constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi.
The case was filed with the Ramna Thana in city in the afternoon.
The case statement against ex-state minister Abdul Mannan Khan said he did not give information of his property worth Tk 4.59 lakh and he could not submit documents in support of his income of Tk 75 lakh.
According to the income tax returns and other datas of Mannan, he has movable properties worth Tk 96.89 lakh.
Besides, his wealth statement placed to the Anti-graft body on March 9 described that he owned movable properties worth Tk 92.30 lakh.
