DHAKA: Doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) removed the life support of Language movement veteran Abdul Motin on Monday.

BSMMU sources said he is still unconscious though his brain is functioning.

Chief coordinator of Jatiya Gono Front Tipu Biswas, also his brother-in-law, told banglanews: “The health condition of Motin has not improved.”

Doctors removed his life support and he is being only provided with oxygen, he added.

He added: “His actual age is 92, though according to certificate he is 88, which is a factor also.”

Tipu also said that doctors have asked us to wait only.

Professor M Afzal Hossain, Chairman of Neurosurgery Department of BSMMU said, “We cannot say certainly anything now.”

Motin was admitted to ICU of BSMMU on August 19.

Doctors conducted surgical operation to his head on August 20.
