DHAKA: Customs Intelligence seized some 565.75kg gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the fiscal year 2013-14.

The price of the seized gold is around Tk 255.81 crore.

Till April of the current fiscal year (2014-15) some 159kg gold, worth Tk around 71.25 crore, was recovered.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Division sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Director Moinul Islam Khan told banglanews that they succeeded to capture such a large amount of gold due to constant vigilance of officers.
