DHAKA: The High Court on Thursday issued a rule upon Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor and 10 others to explain within four weeks why action should not be taken for their contempt of court.
An HC vacation bench comprising Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman issued the rule.
Some 11 people, including the mayor and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), were made respondents to rule.
Advocate Raihanul Mustafa moved for the petition.
On August 14, the court issued a prohibition for four weeks in building Baddarhat Pura Market after the Swajan Super Market Traders Welfare Society filed the writ.
On August 27, plaintiff filed another writ for violating of court order.
