THAKURGAON: Five minors, including two of a family, drowned in Badupara and Kalitala villages of Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon.

Of the deceased, four were identified as Fahim, 10 and Rifat, 8, sons of one Enamul Haque, Motibul, 9, son of one Nurul Islam and Nupur, 6, daughter of Chutu Mohammad.

Quoting witnesses, Officer-in-Charge of Thakurgaon Thana AKM Mehedi Hasan told banglanews that four children went to take bath in a pond beside their house in Badupara village and drowned.

Later, family members found floating bodies.

Another child drowned in Kalitala village, he added.
