DHAKA: The government appointed former Foreign Affairs Secretary Syed Moazzem Ali as new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India for the next three years.
The Public Administration Ministry on Thursday issued an order regarding the appointment.
It said government appointed Syed Moazzem Ali contractually for the next three years from his date of joining and he would receive status, salary and allowances and other benefits as per regulations.
Meanwhile, City Editor (Diplomatic & Political Affairs) of New Age, Dhaka-based English Daily, Shamim Ahmad was made Minister (Press) of Bangladesh Embassy to USA for two years, in a separate order.
He was appointed on condition of leaving all kinds of ties with all other institutions.
