RAJSHAHI: Rapid Action Battalion members detained two people with three touch stone-made statutes of Vishnu, a Hindu God, from Bhujuil Bazar under Nachol upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday night.

The detainees are Abu Shama, 40, of Poinalpur villilage of Niamatpur upazila and Mohhamad Kalam, 35, of Dighirpara village of Nachol upazila of the district.

Tipped-off, RAB conducted operation there at 9:00pm and nabbed them and recovered three touch stone statues, weighing 18 kilograms, and worth about Tk 75 lakh from their possession.

RAB disclosed the detention and seizure through a press release issued on Saturday.
