200 villages flooded in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ: Flood situation is being worsened day by day in Munshiganj as river water has been flowing over 22 centimeters of the danger level on Sunday.

In this circumstance, more than one lakh people in over 200 villages have become marooned.

Sources told banglanews that those villagers are living in a subhuman condition due to shortage of food and drinking water there.

Some villages have already been destroyed there by the erosion of river while other are under the threat of destruction as the erosion continues, they added.

However, Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner office sources said that the administration is trying to help the flood affected people with their best.

Around 32 tones rice and TK 2.3 lakh have already been distributed there among the flood-affected people, sources added.
