PM for illiteracy-free Bangladesh

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the people of Bangladesh will no longer remain illiterate in future, because an educated nation is necessary to build the country free from poverty.

For this reason, the premier on Sunday directed the Ministry of Education to take all-out measures so no girl and boy remain out of education.

Hasina gave the order while visiting the ministry in the morning, where education secretary and other officials were present.

Regarding the MPO (monthly pay order) enlistment, the premier said, a policy would have to be formulated, MPO would be granted where necessary, and no lobbing would be allowed.

At present, MPO is being given where it was not necessary, so right decision would be taken by formulating the policy, she added.
