DHAKA: State Minister for Labour & Employment Affairs Mujibul Haque (Chunnu), also presidium member of Jatiya Party (JP), on Monday categorically said he is ready to leave the cabinet if his party wants.

The senior leader of the party made the assertion, in response to a question about the party leaders to resign from the cabinet, after a meeting of JP parliamentary committee.

Ershad has reportedly considered quitting the government to appear as a stronger opposition party in the parliament.

When contacted, he said, “I am ready to follow any decision of my party.”

Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud did not receive the phone call while the mobile phone of State Minister for Local Government Affairs Moshiur Rahman Ranga was found switched off.

Opposition of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad Jatiya Party (JP), led by former President HM Ershad, has three ministers and state ministers in the cabinet.
