CHITTAGONG: Some 270 people were killed and 1,219 others injured in 306 road accidents in the district in last eight months.

Road Accidents Monitoring Cell of the Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity published a research report on Saturday.

Of the deceased, 96 were passers-by, 74 children, 110 women, five doctors, 32 leaders and activists from various political parties, 74 students, 101 rickshaw pullers and transport workers, 27 police personnel and 15 army and BGB personnel, the report said.
