DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) asked the Public Administration and Liberation War Affairs Ministries to take departmental action against five secretaries after canceling their fake freedom fighter certificates.

The anti-graft body sent notices, signed by ACC secretary Maksudul Hasan Khan, to the ministries on Monday, said a competent source.

The fake FF certificate holder secretaries are KH Masud Siddique, Abul Kashem Talukder, AKM Amir Hossain, Niazuddin Mia and Mollah Wahiduzzaman.

The notice sought cancellation of their gazette, punitive and legal action against them.

An ACC officer said, “ACC will not file any case against them as they were not found to take any monetary facility using those certificates. But ministry can, if it wants.”
