DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Tuesday inaugurated the international seminar of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).

In his inaugural speech, minister praised the role of ‘The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh’ in producing efficient manpower saying, “Professional accountants can play a vita role in increasing the growth rate of the country.”

Tofail Ahmed also said, “Chartered Accountants play a significant role in ensuring transparency and accountability. They also work for good governance.”

He hoped to increase the mutual relationship of the professionals of this field across the boundary to ensure economic growth.

SAFA president CA Subodh Kumar Agarwal, ICAB president Shawkat Hossain, among others, addressed the function.
