DHAKA: Miscreants shot a Swechhasebak League leader to death in city’s Shyampur area on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Riazul Islam Lalu, 35, President of Shyampur Swechhsebak League, son of Mokter Hossain and resident of the area.

Cousin of the deceased Mohammed Rubel told banglanews that two miscreants shot Riazul at his shop around 7:15pm, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead around 7:45pm.

In-Charge of DMCH police outpost Mojammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
