KHULNA: A total of 10 minors died of various reasons including drowning, electrocution and snake bite in several areas of the district in last nine days.

The deceased were identified as Anik, 3, son of Animesh Mandal, Samia, 2, daughter of Wahid Mollah, Pakhi, 1, daughter of Yahia Khan Babul, Farzana, 3, daughter of Khokan Sardar, Milon, 9, son of Atiar Rahman, Razibul Islam, 5, son of Rezaul Sardar and Farhad Hossain, 3, son of Shahinur Rahman.

The deceased also include Sohan Kazi, 7, son of Sentu Kazi, Al Amin, 8, son of Ahad Ali and Sima Aktar, 12, daughter of Khaliluddin.

Locals said that on September 7, Razibul and Farhad were playing near a pond by their house and at one stage they went missing.

Later, locals recovered their bodies from the pond.

Besides, Sohan Kazi of Tazpur village drowned in river.

On September 8, Al Amin of Dumuria Shalatia village died of snake bite.

On September 10, a school girl Sima Aktar, 12, committed suicide in Kalibarighat area of the district.
