BGB to be deployed in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel will be deployed in the port city of the district from Wednesday dawn to maintain law-and-order situation ahead of the verdict of war crimes convicts and also Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi.

Moreover, the local administration has already deployed additional police forces at important places of the city and several upazilas on Tuesday evening to avert any untoward situation.

A total number of 16 platoons BGB personnel were asked to be deployed in which six platoons will work in the city and rest 10 platoons in the district from Wednesday 5:00pm.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) deputy commissioner Masud-ul-Hasan told banglanews that the law-enforcers will be in alert position in several places of the district to avert violence and unwanted situations.
