DHAKA: Police Wednesday dispersed Gonojagoron Moncho activists from Shahbagh intersection using water canon and tear shells soon after Delawar Hossain Sayedee verdict.

The action left over a dozen activists including its convener Imran H Sarkar hurt. Imran was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The activists of Gonojagoron Moncho started protest there expressing dissatisfaction on appellate division's verdict that commute death penalty of war criminal Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee to imprisonment unto death.
