7 JMB men on 4-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Friday placed seven members of contraband outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on four-day remand in two separate cases.

Metropolitan Magistrate Rashed Talukdar of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order when DB Inspector Mozammel Haque produced them before the court with a 10-day remand in each case.

Police, early Friday, detained seven JMB members including their acting chief Tasnim from Ashulia Landing Station Park from Turag area in Tongi Thana of the district.

The other arrested are--Nayem Ali, 28, Sikandar Ali alias Naki, 25, Mahmud Ibne Bashar, 23, Masum Billah, 26, Fuad Hasan, 18 and Ali Ahmed, 24.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman briefed journalists about the matter at DMP Media Center.
