DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said the students are moving forward and will be go on overcoming all challenges.
Hasina was addressing the closing ceremony of the 43rd Bangladesh National School & Madrasa Summer Sports Competition at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on the morning.
The premier hoped that this kind of the sports competition will bring out the world-level sportspeople who will bring honor to the country.
We want student will grow up with physical and mental fitness; variety of sport and competition will play an important role in their physical and mental growth, she added.
The premier, however, cut short her speech as rain has been pouring since the morning.
Several hundreds of students from different schools and madrasas across the country gathered there to hear from Hasina ignoring heavy downpour.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the function in the chair.
Organized by Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, curtain of the 5-day event was unveiled on last Tuesday.
A total of 481 students took part in the competition from different schools, college and madrasa of secondary and higher secondary level. Of them, 264 were male students, 160 female students and 57 officials.
