CHITTAGONG: Four people sustained burn injuries and four more went missing in a fire at fishing boat in Firingi Bazar area of Karnaphuli River in the port city on Saturday.

The cause of fire could not be known immediately.

The injured are - Nur Uddin, 43, Liton, 30, Akber, 30 and Alamgir, 45.  Amongst them, Liton’s condition is critical.

Sources said the fire originated around 10:55am and soon smoke covered the entire area.

Later, the injured were admitted to burn unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Fire Service Officers said that on information, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and a coast guard team took position in the area.
