AKHAURA, BRAHMANBARIA: Rail communications on Sylhet-Chittagong route has been restored on Sunday morning after four hours of disruption following a derailment at Akhaura rail station of the district.

The rail service resumed around 9:25am after salvage the derailed compartment.

Earlier in the day, all wheels of a compartment of ‘Udayan Express’ derailed around 5:30am at Akhaura station that snapped rail communication of Sylhet-Chittagong routes.
