TANGAIL: At least four persons were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Jamurki area under Mrizapur upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid Mia, 65, Ismail Hossain, 60, Sohel Mia, 27 and Lebu Mia, 40. 

Sources said that a pick-up van collided head-on with a covered van in the area around 7:30am, leaving the Lebu Mia dead on the spot and injured six others.

Later, the injured were rushed to Tangail Medical College Hospital where three others succumbed to their injuries. 

Garai Highway Thana Officer-in-Charge Zobaydul Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
