BRAHMANBARIA: At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two villagers centering union parishad elections at Sadar upazila on Sunday noon.

Sources said supporters of chairman candidate Mosharraf Hossain Munshi of Kachhaich village locked into a clash with supporters of another chairman candidate Al Aminul Haque Pavel of Atla village around 2:30pm.

They started fighting over establishing supremacy and capturing the polling centers in the polls, said a spot account of the incident.

On information, police rushed in and tried to bring the situation under control.

Assistant Police Super Tapash Ranjan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
