DHAKA: Bangla Railway (BR) authorities started drives to evict illegal establishments adjacent to the rail tracks stretching from Shewra to Airport areas of the city on Tuesday morning.

The drives have been begun at 10:00am and will be continued till 2:00pm.

Dhaka Railway Thana Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam told banglanews that drives to evict illegal shops and settlements are underway; BR Estate Department and BR Police are jointly conducting the eviction operations.

About a hundreds have been removed since the morning, Rafiqul added.
