4 accused on remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed four accused in Gopibagh 6-murder case in 4-day remand. 

Judge of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court Yusus Khan passed the order in response to 10-day remand plea by Detective Branch (DB) inspector Abual Matubbar. 

The accused are Azmir, Golam Sarwar, Ziaul Islam and Al-Amin.

Earlier on December 21, 2013, six people were hacked to death at a house in Gopibagh area under Wari Thana of the capital.

Of the deceased, the elderly man was identified as Lutfur Rahman Faruk, 60, who used to introduce himself as a ‘Pir’ (saint).

The other victims were Monir Hossain, son of Lutfur, Manju, Khadem of the ‘pir’ (saint), and Lutfur’s followers--Shaheen, Rasel, and Mojibur Rahman.
