DHAKA: The flights operation of United Airways will be shut down due to the shortage of fuel and in-flight foods on Thursday.
The disclosure came from a press conference held at the main office at Uttara around 7:00pm Wednesday.
Earlier, two directors of the airways resigned as they failed to control the situation.
Head of Marketing Aftab, Director (flight operation) Captain Ilias, Captain Oahid, Director (Administration) Wing Commander (retd) Ferdous and Director (Customer Service) Farhad were among others were present at the conference.
The mismanagement created after United Airways chairman and managing director Captain Tasbirul Ahmed resigned.
Captain Ilias said a new skilled and qualified person should be appointed as MD or former MD Captain Tasbirul could be returned in the post to take under control the situation.
Earlier on Monday, Mahtabur Rahman has been appointed as chairman and Shahinur Alam as MD. But they did not join yet that make more insecurity to the officials of the airways.
Meanwhile, the passengers of the United Airways staged demonstration as the authorities cancelled five flights on Wednesday.
The sudden cancellation of the flights caused huge sufferings of the passengers.
