GAZIPUR: Two suspected robbers were beaten to death by angry mob in Boardbazar area of Joydebpur Thana of the district on Wednesday.

One of the deceased was identified as Saddam Hossain, 24, son of Arman Ali of Sanarpar village of Sadar upazila.

Sub-inspector Mobarak Hossain of Bhogra Police Outpost said the angry mob beat three alleged robbers indiscriminately when they were taking preparation to rob at Mayran village in the area at noon, leaving them severely injured.

They were taken to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital where two succumbed to their injuries around 5:00pm.

The dead bodies were kept in the morgue for autopsy.
