4 held with Yaba, foreign currencies

DHAKA: Law enforcement agencies personnel held four people with 1,300 pieces of Yaba tablets and foreign currencies in separate drives in the city Thursday.

Government Railway Police (GRP) detained Razab Ali, 85, and seized 500 pieces of Yaba tablets from Kamlapur Railway Station in the city at 9:00am on the day.

GRP Kamlapur Railway Thana Officer-In-Charge Abdul Mazid told that Razab got down at the station from a mail train. Police searched his body, on suspicion, and recovered the Yaba tablets.

He was being interrogated at the thana. A case was filed in this connection.

On the other hand, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed three people, including an alleged arms-and-drugs trader, with 800 pieces of Yaba tablets and a sizeable amount of foreign currencies in the city’s Mugda area early Thursday.

The alleged arms trader is Mozzammel alias Moj.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, RAB deputy director (media) Major Rummon said tipped-off, RAB drove operations in the area and detained them with the Yaba and foreign currencies.

The RAB official could not disclose the identity of the detainees except Moj.
