DHAKA: Customs Intelligence officials held a person with 595-gram gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night.
The identity of the detainee could not be known immediately.
Sources said that the man with a luggage came at green channel around 11:00pm, who came from Malaysia. Then the law enforcers stopped him and found five gold bars and a gold chain.
Confirming the matter, Custom Assistant Commissioner (preventive) Ruhul Amin told banglanews the market price of the seized gold bar is estimated around Tk26 lakhs.
