DHAKA: An electrician was electrocuted in Kathalbagan area of Kolabagan Thana in the city on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, 22, son of Shaheed Ukil, hailed from Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. 

Sources said that the victim was working in an under construction building in the area around 9:00am. At one stage, he came in contact with a live electric wire, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
