FROM HOTEL GRAND HAYATT: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is focusing the reform of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) during her tight schedule of the forth day of her visit made to participate the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The program will be started at UN Headquarters committee room around 4:15pm (NY time) where presidents or premiers of Commonwealth countries will discuss about the CHOGM reform.
Later, a working group consisting of Commonwealth leaders will adopt a declaration for the period after 2015.
The premier will play a vital role in the forum, said the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN Dr AK Abdul Momen.
However, Bangladesh premier Hasina will begin her activities with an interview, conducted by renowned journalist Sarkar Kabir Uddin, with Voice of America (VOA) at the Bilateral Meeting Room of Hotel Grand Hayatt.
Later, she will deliver a speech at lunch time thrown by Business Counsel for International Understanding (BCIU).
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, PM’s Political Affairs Advisor HT Iman, Finance Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman, State Minister for Foreign Minister Shahriar Alam, Bangladesh Ambassador to US M Ziauddin, PM’s principal secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder, senior secretary Abul Kalam Azad and FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed joined the program.
In the evening, Sheikh Hasina will meet Nepal’s Prime Minister Sushil Koirala from 6:00pm to 6:25pm.
Later at night, she will join a dinner at the resident of Dr AK Abdul Momen.
