DHAKA: A pedestrian was killed in a road accident in city’s Purana Paltan area on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified was Mostafizur Rahman Mintu, 32, son of Ziaur Rahman, hailed from Munshiganj.

Locals said a rashly driven private car knocked Mintu down in the area in the evening, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

His body was kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.

DMCH police outpost in-charge M Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
