DHAKA: Banglalink, one of the leading mobile-phone operators in the country, is committed to serve its subscriber with the best 3G internet service.

In an exclusive interview with banglanews24.com, Banglalink Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ziad Shatara said, he is dreaming to be on top in providing internet service.

In the meantime, the mobile-phone operator completed ensuring 3G network in 64 districts and currently it has over 800,000 internet subscribers.

The CEO, who believes in better customer service, said, one can reach to the people or can become popular through customer service and reducing call rate and so on; but in the long run, there is no alternative to a standard service. Qualitative service should be scale to judge the acceptability of any mobile operation.

Mentioning it’s a challenge to maintain continuity of service, product variations and meeting the growing customers’ demand, Mr. Ziad Shatara said, “We have shown the best. So now we have confidently introduced the first ever network service quality feature in Bangladesh, ‘Minute Back on Call Drop’.”

Over the environment of telecommunication sector of Bangladesh, he said, “Here the demand of mobile is very high and there is demand of internet in all spheres including business, entertainment, sports. We are working keeping in mind the constant efforts to satisfy our valued subscribers.”

Banglalink invested huge sum of money for network expansion and modernization in last few years.

In this regard, Banglalink is very confident that we are best in technological and technical capability Excellency. We have invested 300 million US Dollar for 3G service here, he added.

“Old technology will obsolete as very soon we will finish modernizing our internet service. We want to cover town to remote villages of Bangladesh.

Customers want everything, while initially we may not able to cover whole country. But our network expansion works will be carried forward following subscribers demand,” the Banglalink CEO also added.

Mentioning no chance to evade tax in mobile sector, Shatara again said, “Tax policy of Bangladesh is not friendly. We are giving tax for our business; SIM replacement is not a business, but we have pay tax for it.”

About 4G and LTE launch, he said, “Its not high time as the reality is different here. Because many yet don’t have 3G enabled phone sets. Moreover, there is no handset that has configuration to use 4G. None can use 4G with a handset of 50 USD. The government should come out of the plan of launching 4G here.”
