DHAKA: Five passengers of United Airways filed a lawsuit against top five officials of the airways claiming compensation of Tk 50 as they did not travel to destination due to poor service.
The case was filed with Judge Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan of first sub-district judge court in Dhaka on Sunday.
The plaintiffs are Abu Bakar Siddique, Rafiqul Islam, Nasrin Akter, Maqbul Hossain and Sohanur Rahman.
The lawsuit was filed against the Managing Director, Chairman, Manager (Administration), Manager (Operation) of United Airways and Managing Director of Air Star Travels and Tours.
According to the case statement, the plaintiffs said they missed their scheduled business trip to Malaysia as the airlines suspended its operations on September 25.
They all incurred huge losses due to the cancellation of the flight, they claimed.
United Airways resumed operations on Saturday two days after it sudden suspension of flight operations amidst a ‘leadership crises’ at the nine-year old company.
At least 2,000 passengers had suffered during the two days, as 10 international flights and 14 domestic flights were cancelled.
