COMILLA: A 40-killometer-long traffic gridlock on Dhaka-Chittagong highway pushed hundreds of passengers into serious sufferings on Tuesday morning.
Daudkandi Highway Police Sub-Inspector Noor told banglanews that a wrecker went to the area to recover a lorry that was stuck on roads around 1:00am.
It created huge traffic jam in both sides of the highway.
On the other hand, home-bound people as well as hundreds of cattle laden trucks and covered van were stuck in the area due to the long tailback.
Mainamati Highway Outpost Sub-Inspector Amal Chandra Das told banglanews that movements of excessive vehicles caused the tailback.
