Death toll rises to 5

DHAKA: The death toll in Monday’s Manikganj CNG filling station blast rose to five as four victims succumbed to their burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Shamsul Haque, a pump manager, Nur Islam Lebu, 40, a BRTC bus driver, Delwar Hossain, 40, worker of a pump and Shamim Uddin Pakhi, a CNG driver.

Residential surgeon of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Burn unit Partha Shankar Paul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on Monday, a man, Helal Uddin, 35, died and six other people were injured in the accident.
